Harry Torczyner, American Zionist leader, returning today from a visit to Israel asserted that “a feeling of bitter disappointment prevails there at United States failure to recognize the service rendered by Israel to the free world by inflicting the first defeat on a Soviet stooge since the China debacle, the Korean stalemate, and the Vietnam defeat.”

Mr. Torczyner, who accompanied Senator-elect Jacob K. Javits on his brief visit to Israel, further reported that “the prevailing feeling in Israel is one of grim determination to face whatever the future may hold. With the exception of a handful of Communists, the nation stands united behind Prime Minister David Ben Gurion,” he said.
