The remnants of numerous settlements in Israel dating back to the stone age were discovered in a special survey carried out in the last two weeks by the Israel Government Department of Antiquities, it was announced here today by Dr. A. Docton of the department.
He told a press conference that the main portion of the survey was carried out in the vicinity of ancient Kadesh Barnea, site of a fertile valley with sufficient quantities of water. The survey confirmed, he said, the Biblical account that after the Exodus from Egypt the Israelites stayed at Kadesh Barnea where the Patriarchs had established a type of agricultural settlement.
