Ancient Synagogue, Mikvah Unearthed in Cologne

Excavations in the center of the old city here have unearthed the remains of an historic synagogue and Mikvah (Jewish ritual bath) believed to be of twelfth century origin. Both buildings were once located in the center of the medieval Jewish community here.
