Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd assured Barnett Janner, Labor M.P. in the House of Commons today, that he would look into reports that Egypt is sequestrating property of Jews there on the grounds of race or religion.
Mr. Janner, who is also president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, had asked the British Government to look into the matter because “Nazi methods now in use in Egypt must be rectified.”
