Oil Shortage in Turkey Results in Stoppage of Jewish Emigration

A small but steady flow of Jewish emigration to Israel from Turkey has been stopped as one of the side-effects of the Suez Canal crisis. The shortage of heavy oil created by the Canal closing has forced cancellation of service by Turkish ships operating on foreign lines, including a regular Istanbul-Haifa run.
