Soviet authorities in Moscow have banned the Jewish newspaper Folkshtimme, published in Warsaw, which has hitherto been sent to various institutions and libraries in the Soviet Union, it was reported here today from Warsaw. The newspaper is pro-Soviet but has recently criticized the Moscow Government for not permitting a resumption of Jewish cultural life in the Soviet Union.
Many Polish Jews in Russia are now seeking repatriation to Poland, according to a report in the latest issue of Folkshtimme which arrived here today. The report says that the Jewish religious communities of Poland have formed a committee jointly with the Association of Jewish Cultural Organizations there to provide aid for the repatriated Jews. A decision has been taken by the presidium of this committee to appeal to the Polish Prime Minister to allocate a special fund to help Jewish repatriates.
