President Eisenhower today held a White House conference with Secretary of State Dulles and Under Secretary Herter to discuss the Suez Canal problem and foreign aid plans. Mr. Dulles declined comment on the details of the 45-minute conference except to say that the two subjects were discussed.

State Department press spokesman Lincoln White said today the Department was awaiting further word from Egypt on its Suez Canal plan. He refused to discuss a “preliminary” response from Egypt on operation of the canal received two days ago.
