Jewish Communities Observe Anniversary of Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

Memorial meetings throughout Israel and special programs in the schools marked yesterday the fourteenth anniversary of the Jewish revolt against the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto.

At the largest meeting, here, President Ben Zvi, the two Chief Rabbis, members of the Cabinet and representative survivors of the ghetto battle paid homage to the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis. Among the observances were the planting of trees in the Martyrs Forest along the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway and the unveiling of memorial plaques in various communities.
