A total of 2,600 immigrants–the largest number to arrive in Israel in one day since 1951–disembarked here today from four vessels. Four hundred of them came from Egypt.

Their arrival brought to 71,400 the number to arrive since last Independence Day, a jump of over 28, 000 more than came in the year before. Present plans call for the arrival of 100,000 immigrants during 195.
