A plan to guarantee professional teachers in Jewish schools adequate salaries and ample retirement benefits was launched here today at the annual convention of the American Association for Jewish Education.
Dr. Judah Pilch, executive director of the association, reported that in 16 of 30 large and medium communities recently surveyed, professional Jewish teachers were not receiving adequate protection for their old age or death benefits. Philip Lown of Boston was re-elected president of the organization.
