A Soviet broadcast in Arabic charged today that the United States will spend a major portion of the Eisenhower Doctrine funds to arm Israel.

Beamed from “Moscow to the Arab countries in the Middle East, the broadcast said; “The United States intends to spend large sums of the Eisenhower Doctrine funds on arming Israel.” The Russian propaganda alleged that $122,000,000 out of the $200,000,000 allocated for aid under the Eisenhower Doctrine will be offered to Israel.”

The Soviet broadcast attacked the Eisenhower Doctrine and claimed that Israel has been selected to serve as “the gendarme of the imperialists” in the Middle East. “It is known,” it said, “that when Egypt, which is threatened by Israeli aggression, asked the United States to give her arms, she was refused. The United States does not send weapons to Syria, which is adopting a neutralist policy. Instead, American arms are flowing to those who accept orders from the United States.”
