The Turkish Football Federation has been instructed by the Turkish Foreign Office not to play national matches with Israeli teams, Hasan Polat, president of the football federation, said today. As a result of this ruling, he said, Turkey will not be able to enter the World Cup Championship contest in Sweden next year.

A football match earlier this month between the Turkish and Egyptian national teams provided Premier Adnan Menderes with an opportunity for a public profession of friendship with Egypt by attending the game. The visit of the Egyptian team was used to press for rapprochement between the two countries.
