The first annual “Concepts of Americanism” award established by Detroit Post No. 135 of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States has been awarded to Philip Slomovitz, editor and publisher of the Detroit Jewish News. The citation was for “perceptive reporting and analysis, creative of an informed and affirmative Judaism” in Detroit.
