The Israel Government is attempting to secure an invitation from Washington for a visit by Premier David Ben Gurion to the White House, the Sunday Observer reported today in a copyrighted story from Tel Aviv.

“The current realignment among the Middle East countries is not developing as had been anticipated in Tel Aviv,” the Sunday Observer said. The Israelis believe that the policy of “cautious silence” has produced no similarly moderate attitude on the part of the Arab states, the newspaper declared, and Israeli officials “think this makes the need for Ben Gurion’s Washington talks more pressing than ever.”
