American and Israeli similarities in approaches to freedom were stressed at an American Independence Day party held at ZOA House here tonight United States Charge d’affaires William O, Baxter. greeted the audience. He said.

"For both of us the word independence carries a special meaning arising from history; for both of us it recalls efforts for a new and more favorable political order, and the achievement of nationhood. We have a grave duty to protect liberties that have been won for us–no less for Israel than for American–liberties which powerful enemies have long been plotting to destroy."
