Rabbi Friedman Reports on U. J. A. Plans at Jewish Agency Session

Rabbi Herbert Friedman, executive vice president of the United Jewish Appeal, reported at the plenary session of the Jewish Agency here today on the success of the UJA campaign this year. He also reported on plans to speed the tempo of the 1958 campaign and to inaugurate this September nationwide “goodwill tours” which will, within an eight-day period, bring information teams into 76 major American Jewish communities with the UJA message.

Levi Eshkol, Israel’s Finance Minister and head of the Agency’s settlement department, reported on his recent visits to the United States and France and his efforts to raise funds for housing needs and immigration costs.
