Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey today introduced a bill that would provide sanctuary in the United States for a number of Egyptian Jewish refugees and make a number of other liberalizing changes in basic immigration law. It would also strengthen the President’s authority to admit emergency refugees under parole.

Sen. Humphrey linked his bill with one introduced previously by Sen, John Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat. He made known he is co-sponsoring the Kennedy Bill and said his bill supplements it.
