Housewives in Israel Assured of Sufficient Oil for Cooking

Oil dealers in Israel took steps today to assure their patrons that even if the Shell Oil Company withdraws from operations in this country, housewives will not be left without kerosene for their kitchen ranges and hot-water heaters.

Kerosene dealers took large ads in the newspapers today to assure worried housewives that even if Shell quits, the supply will not be affected. They announced that they were prepared to take on new customers now.

Another Shell subsidiary, Shell Chemicals, which manufactures insecticides needed in Israeli agriculture, was reported today to be considering the transfer of the enterprise to its employees on a cooperative basis.
