Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd had informed the House of Commons today that the British Government will not initiate discussions within the Bagdad Pact with a view to resettlement of Palestine Arab refugees in the undeveloped areas of member countries in the Middle East.

“I think a solution of the problem of Arab refugees must rest with a wider body than the Bagdad Pact,” Mr. Lloyd said in a written reply to questions.
