Syrian forces stationed in the Tel Azaziat area were hastily and secretly withdrawn last night before the entrance of United Nations observers into the area today to investigate complaints.
Israel had strongly complained to the United Nations truce organization against repeated Syrian incursions into the 300-dunam area and the illegal presence of Syrian forces there. The Syrians refused to agree to have UN observers from the Israel side investigate the complaints.
