Israel industries received today their first order from Burma for irrigation equipment. The order, amounting to $150, 000 was mainly for light alloy pipes and fittings.

The order was placed after the Burmese authorities accepted irrigation plans prepared by an Israel expert in preference to proposals by German and Austrian irrigation engineers. The plan accepted by the Burmese was prepared by S. Gichon, an Israel irrigation expert, now serving as an advisor to the Burmese Government.
