A resolution approving “whole-heartedly and unstintingly” the actions of the school boards of three North Carolina cities which had decided to comply with the United States Supreme Court’s desegregation decision was adopted unanimously this week-end by the North Carolina Association of Rabbis. The rabbis have just completed their week’s retreat here.
The desegregation resolution commended the school boards of Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston-Salem, and expressed the hope that similar action would be taken soon by school districts throughout this state.
Another resolution by the rabbis expressed opposition to a bill now before Congress on the grounds that it would interfere with the slaughtering of animals in accordance with Jewish religious precepts.
