An Austrian court today fined Georg Kuenstlinger, editor of the Jewish monthly “Neue Welt,” 1,200 schillings for editorially calling a former deputy of the neo-Nazi League of Independent Voters indecent.

The court agreed that the former deputy, Franz Steuber had made remarks in Parliament that verged on indecency, but declared that other anti-Semitic remarks by Steuber were merely the typical jargon of parliamentarians.

At the same time, the Austrian Government banned today a Hungarian-language newspaper published in Salzburg because of anti-democratic and anti-Semitic incitement. The newspaper, “Ut Es Cel,” tried to turn Hungarian refugees in Austrian camps against their Jewish fellow fugitives.
