Asian Flu in Israel on ‘moderate Course,’ Health Aides Say

Ministry of Health officials said today that the Asian influenza epidemic in Israel was taking a moderate course.” According to official reports an average of 5,000 persons were confined to bed with the disease, but it was estimated that the actual number of victims was about five times higher. Jerusalem was described as the city worst hit by the epidemic. It was estimated that the city had 10,000 cases at present.

Innoculation of defense forces personnel against the Asian flu has been completed and health officials today began to innoculate the border police and airline and maritime service employes.
