A German court in this Westphalian city has sentenced Paul Thomanek, onetime S. S. leader and concentration camp commandant, to 15 years’ imprisonment for the murder of five Jews.
When he heard the verdict, the defendant said he had been made a victim of an “organized conspiracy of the Jews.” Several Jews now living in the United States travelled to Germany to testify to the murder of hundreds of prisoners at the camp which they had witnessed.
