James Richards, Eisenhower’s Special Envoy to Middle East, Resigns

James P. Richards, the President’s personal envoy to the Middle East who spent a considerable time this year traveling through the Middle East selling the Eisenhower Doctrine, resigned yesterday. The White House has not announced yet whether the former chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee will be replaced in this post.
