The operation of a direct El Al service between Israel and West Germany will save Israel some $325,000 a year in foreign currency, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said today.
He was commenting on the new line which will replace the Scandinavian Air Service route on which Israelis bound to and from Germany travelled last year. An SAS delegation visited Israel several months ago, but negotiations failed to result in a new agreement.
