The Town Council of Amsterdam today posthumously honored a Dutch Jewish scholar by naming a street after him. It so honored Prof. Leonard Salomon Ornstein, who was chairman of the Netherlands Zionist Federation and a member of the board of the Hebrew University prior to his death in 1941.
British Queen Elizabeth II conferred honors on three prominent Dutch Jews during her visit to Holland last week. it was learned today. She conferred the Order of the British Empire on Minister of Justice Dr. Ivo Samkalden; Grand Officer, Order St. Michael and George on Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. E. H. Vanderbeugel; and, the Royal Victorian Order on Dr. L.J.F. Wysenbeek, director of the Communal Museum at The Hague.
