Israel Cabinet to Reconsider Ban on Youth Organizations in Schools

The Cabinet will reconsider its recent decision to bar all youth organization from school activities at its next session to be held after Passover, it was indicated here today.

Some two years ago the Government ruling barring Hashomer Hatzair and Betar- -youth groups of the left-wing labor party and the nationalist Herut respectively–from school affiliation came into effect. The recent decision applied to all others including the nonpartisan Boy Scouts which have some 15, 000 members including 3, 000 Arabs.

The new decision was severely criticized in the entire press and from public forums and it is expected that in reviewing the extension of the ban. Government will make an exception of the Scout movement.
