A Yugoslav peasant who told a Jewish woman that her husband should “go to Palestine because his place is there” was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for inciting intolerance by insulting citizens, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Yugoslavia reported in a Bulletin which arrived here today.
The Bulletin reported that the peasant, Laslo Sarvas, made the statement to Margita. Ujhelji. He was indicted by the district public prosecutor in Subotica and sentenced under Article 19 of the Yugoslav Criminal Code.
