The International Labor Organization today called on member states to take steps to eliminate racial and religious discrimination in respect to employment and occupations.

The call was in the form of a convention adopted by the general conference of the ILO, which is currently in session. A number of Jewish non-governmental agencies with consultative status at the ILO supported the convention.
