Benjamin A. Cohen, Under Secretary of the United Nations in charge of Trusteeship and former Assistant Secretary General in charge of the department of public information, retired today after 13 years of service with the international organization.

Mr. Cohen, son of Alberto Cohen and Rebecca Gallerstein Cohen of Conception, Chile, was in the Chilean diplomatic service for many years prior to being “loaned” to the United Nations by his government in 1945.
