Bonn Government Wants United States to Come to Terms with Nasser

West Germany feels strongly that the United States and Britain are backing the wrong horse in the Middle East, and that the West “must come to terms” with United Arab Republic President Gamal Abdel Nasser, it was reported here today.

The German press points out that the Iraqi regime has shown a most friendly disposition to West Germany and that there are many German technicians in the entire Middle East. It is observed here that many of the leaders of the controlling junta in the new Iraq government are known for their pro-German sentiments.
