Sen. Allen J. Ellender of Louisiana said today in a broadcast on the current Middle East situation that a great difficulty lies in the “deep-rooted belief on the part of the Arabs that the United States is totally committed to support any move taken by Israel.”

The Louisiana Democrat, a member of the Senate appropriations committee, said “there will be no peace in the Middle East until the conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors is settled.”
