The foundation of a monument to the memory of Europe’s martyred Jews was erected at the local Jewish cemetery. Survivors of concentration camps formed a guard of honor with flaming torches. The audience wept as Chief Rabbi Louis Rabinowitz memorialized the Jewish martyrs.
