Israel today proposed before the United Nations that the projected $100, 000,000 special fund for economic development projects, which was initially proposed by the United States last year, be established in such a way that relatively inexpensive projects be encompassed under the new program.

The proposal was made in the General Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee by Miss Hava Hareli, a new member of Israel’s permanent mission here. In her first address before an Assembly group, Miss Hareli told the committee on behalf of the Israel Government that “the size of a project need not necessarily reflect the degree of its essentiality. “
