Dr. Aaron Chiprut, well known Istanbul physician, has been elected president of the Grand Rabbinate’s Council, the administrative lay body of the Turkish Jewish community. The post has been vacant for six years while the community sought an acceptable candidate to the 20 member body, few of whose members are active.
