A $100,000 gift by Irving Schwartz, local textile manufacturer, to help build a psychiatric treatment center for children, was announced here by Abe Cooper, president of the Philadelphia Psychiatric Hospital. The hospital is affiliated with the Philadelphia Jewish Federation-United Fund.

Mr. Cooper noted that the Jewish community has no psychiatric facilities for the treatment of children. He added that the projected center would provide training facilities for doctors seeking to specialize in child psychiatry.
