Formal teacher training and adult education courses will be given by the Bay Area College of Jewish Studies, established here as a cooperative project of the Bureau of Jewish Education of San Francisco, Marin County and the Peninsula and the Jewish Education Council of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

The college, described as a new experiment in formal education, is designed to meet the needs of religions school teachers and adults for regular courses in Judaism. It plans to offer a 36-credit training course for persons wishing to qualify for a teaching certificate and a 24-credit program for an adult certificate of completion. Courses are given in the evening.
