The four day 35th annual conference of Junior Hadassah closed here today with the election of Miss Beverly Steinhart of New York as national president and the adoption of a series of projects in Israel which will total more than $10,000 in cost. The parley was attended by 350 delegates from 55 Junior Hadassah groups throughout the United States.

Mrs. Hugh Salpeter, Hadassah’s national chairman for Junior Hadassah, told the parley that the organization has a “major role to play to fortify Jewishness in the American communities.” She asserted that the provision of Jewish values to the younger generation could counteract assimilation in the American Jewish community.
