More than 1,500 Jewish writers and people active in spreading Jewish culture attended a reception here for Itzik Manger, noted Yiddish poet, following his return from a lengthy visit to Israel.

Mr. Manger, addressing the audience, emphasized that Israel is a land in which many languages are spoken by newcomers. He predicted that a “crystallization” will take place and Hebrew will become the only language of the country.
