An 11-week training course for directors of Jewish community centers in Continental Europe opened here today under the sponsorship of the Joint Distribution Committee. Fonds Social Juive Unifie and the Paris Centre de Jeunes. Future center directors in France, Germany, Yugoslavia and Greece will do field work and take special courses at the Paris center, the largest of its kind in Europe.

A new service to help Jewish communities, particularly in rural and small town areas of Europe and North Africa, with cultural activities was initiated here today with the announcement that materials are available in the French language devoted to Jewish music, literature, poetry and drama.

The series, designed to appeal to Jewish young people and adults, was prepared by Community Service, an organization founded and supported by the Alliance Israelite Universelle, Anglo-Jewish Association and American Jewish Committee to promote cooperation among Jewish communities in religious, educational and cultural activities. An English-language series is already under preparation.
