A spokesman for the Israel Embassy said today that Ambassador Abba Eban has accepted special invitations of the United Jewish Appeal and Israel Bond Organizations to undertake an emergency coast-to-coast tour of the main centers of American Jewry with a view to raising funds for immigration requirements.
The immigration crisis has resulted from the unexpected permission given Rumanian Jewry to depart from that country to Israel. It is expected that the Ambassador’s speaking tour will cover a two month period.
