An original Lincoln letter, in which the Civil War president denied any associations with the “know-nothings” of his day, was presented to B’nai B’rith yesterday by Sen. John S. Cooper, Kentucky Republican.

The letter was presented to Maurice Bisgyer, B’nai B’rith executive vice-president, for display at the organization’s Abranam Lincoln and the Jews exhibit. The July 21, 1860 letter is on loan from the Library of Congress. It is part of the collection at the B’nai B’rith museum of original documents dealing with the role of Jews in Lincoln’s personal and political life in commemoration of his birthday.
