Negotiations have been underway for a week here between Israel and Britain on a renewal of the air transport agreement between the two countries which is now deadlocked, it was reported today.
Unresolved issues include a proposal by Israel to increase the number of London stopovers by El Al planes on flights to and from the United States. Britain seeks to increase the percentage of passengers not travelling the entire Tel Aviv-London route and also to introduce Britannia planes and later Comet jets on the London-Tel Aviv route.
It was also announced here today that plans have been drafted here and in Paris for Israeli and French tourists to travel between Israeli and French Mediterranean ports and the Black Sea, via Zim luxury liners. Before the cruises can be scheduled, however, agreement must be obtained from the Soviet and Bulgarian Governments to permit the excursion vessels to call at their ports.
