Israel Ambassador Abba S. Eban today called on C. Douglas Dillon, Under-Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, to discuss current and new economic assistance for Israel. The talk, which Mr. Eban described as “constructive, “involved projects under the Development Loan Fund, the Special Assistance Fund and Public Law 480 which covers surplus agricultural products.
A portion of the aid sought depends on the outcome of congressional action on pending Mutual Security legislation. On some projects, the details will now come under technical discussion. Mr. Eban said he saw no reason for not obtaining a practical outcome to the current economic negotiations.
