The new Armed Forces Hymnal, which was published today, contains a Jewish section of more than 40 pages. The 512-page hymnal, issued by the Armed Forces Chaplains Board, is published to allow “expression of religious faith through the medium of song, praise and worship.”

The Jewish portion includes a fairly complete Friday evening service, a Torah-reading service and several festival hymns. The Jewish section was prepared in consultation with the National Jewish Welfare Board’s Commission on Jewish Chaplaincy.
