Hanoch Weisky, 50, was convicted in district court here today of having ill-treated other Jews while being a member of the Nazi concentration camp police at the Poznan camp. The court sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment.
The man was arrested several weeks ago, when a former Poznan camp inmate re-cognized Weisky at a Bar Mitzvah party here. Weisky pleaded not guilty, asserting that the Nazis had forced him to take certain actions. Winesses testified that he had beaten camp inmates, and had helped hang one fellow-prisoner at Poznan.
