U.S. Asked to Set Up Space Satellite Tracing Station in Israel

The Israeli Astronautical Society, which has its headquarters at Haifa today asked American authorities to set up in Israel a space satellite tracing station, to be operated by Israeli crews.

Moshe Arens, president of the society, who is a lecturer on aeronautics at the Haifa Technion, said today that the proposal is being studied by officials in Washington. There is only one space satellite tracing station in the Middle East now, located in Iran.
