Seven groups of neo-Nazi youth organizations have held a national meeting at Idstein, agreed to consolidate their movement, and elected a former East German Communist functionary, Hans Schulz, as their “fuehrer. “

The consolidated movement is said to represent between 40, 000 and 70, 000 members. The Idstein meeting was organized by adults, former members of the Hitler Youth, the SS and the National Socialist Party. Delegates attending the Idstein meeting wore Nazi style uniforms, complete with helmets and shoulder straps.

The new “fuehrer” is a member of the Free Socialist People’s Party, a splinter group which split off from the right-wing Deutsche Reichspartei, accusing the latter group of tendencies “not sufficiently to the right. “
